Bloom Ohio

Empty lots make beautiful gardens.

We pull the thistle out of the rusted chain-link, turn the heavy Ohio clay, and plant coneflowers where illegal dumping used to happen.

The Field Ledger

Turning neglected urban lots into pocket parks.

An empty lot is never just vacant ground; it is waiting soil bordered by sidewalks and front porches. We convert neglected parcels across post-industrial Ohio cities into community-tended ecological commons. Alongside civic gardening, we plant street tree canopies to shade brick streetscapes and distribute free native seed packets to local residents.

The work is quiet, muddy, and done side by side on Saturday mornings. Our paid Green Crew workforce program teaches young adults tangible horticultural trades while they edge beds and turn heavy clay. Through volunteer labor and neighborhood stewardship, we reclaim the streetscape.

The native perennials

The resilient species that anchor our neighborhood planting days.

Next neighborhood planting day

Join us this Saturday morning. We provide the trowels, the heavy work gloves, and the native seed stock.
